Join us as an experienced and proactive Inventory Specialist on a 12-month contract, based at Western Power’s Jandakot depot, to manage all supplier contracts within your portfolio to a strict set of KPIs and work with suppliers to develop strategies to drive continuous improvement and cost reduction.

Your Role in Action

  • Manage a portfolio of suppliers with an annual spend of $10M - $100M covering between 300 and 3,000 SKU’s.
  • Deliver optimal inventory levels required to achieve key service and cost targets to support deliverability of the AWP.
  • Manage suppliers to a strict set of KPIs and ensure all targets are met monthly.
  • Prepare understand and analyse statistical forecasts to assigned portfolio.
  • Understand and review replenishment algorithms to ensure the most effective replenishment model is being used.
  • Prepare time phased replenishment plans to ensure continuity of supply.
  • Undertake root cause analysis to understand issues and form action plans for continuous improvement.
  • Liaise with Suppliers and Engineering & Design to coordinate Quality Control plans and facilitate resolution of any product quality issues.
  • Analyse monthly data, research performance issues and identify trends and report as required i.e. presentation to other functions and project teams.
  • Contract Management for all supplier contracts to maximise cost reduction and continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Liaise with Customer and Demand team to coordinate all available forecast data and prepare effective supply plan to meet customer requirements.
  • Represent Materials area on preparation of tenders and other sourcing events to ensure all Material requirements are supported by contractual arrangements.
  • Participate as Materials representative on evaluation of all tenders within assigned portfolio.
  • Manage foundational team members to ensure system is up to date with relevant, current supply information.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of strategies and establish corrective action as appropriate.

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • At least 5 years sound and demonstrated industry experience, skills and knowledge, in an inventory management or supply chain position.
  • Proficient in the use of ERP systems and replenishment management through integrated inventory modelling (E.g. understanding algorithms).
  • Experience in working with and managing suppliers.
  • Relationship building and supplier performance management.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain planning and execution processes.
  • Experience in working on tender development and negotiation desirable.
  • Valid WA Driver’s License Class ‘C’ or ‘C-A’ desirable.
