At Western Power, diversity, equity and inclusion is a strategic imperative – not a side-of-desk activity. With a clear DEI strategy, strong executive sponsorship and a critical role to play in enabling the Energy Transition, we’re ready to take out impact further.

We’re seeking an experienced Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Team Leader to shape enterprise-wide strategy, influence leaders, and embed inclusive practices across attraction, development and retention.

This role will lead our DEI function, governance and reporting structures, ensuring alignment between strategy, delivery and measurable outcomes.

Your Role in Action

  • Lead the evolution of Western Power’s DEI strategy, translating insight and evidence into practical, scalable initiatives.
  • Strengthen equitable talent practices by improving systems, processes and leadership capability
  • Partner with internal stakeholders, industry bodies and community organisations to progress shared diversity outcomes.
  • Provide enterprise-level governance, including legislative monitoring, impact assessments and benchmarking.
  • Embed measurement and accountability through clear metrics, reporting and executive insights.
  • Enable employee voice by supporting senior leaders, employee network and our RAP commitments.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to leaders, contributing to executive forums and recognition opportunities.
  • Lead, coach and develop a small DEI team to ensure capability uplift, clarity of priorities and aligned delivery.
  • Chair or support DEI governance forums (e.g., DEI Council), ensuring visibility, accountability and leadership engagement.

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • Demonstrated expertise in diversity, equity and inclusion, alongside experience in talent acquisition, talent management and/or organisational effectiveness.
  • Proven success shaping and delivering strategic HR initiatives, including the design and implementation of impactful DEI strategies and programs.
  • Strong change leadership and stakeholder engagement capability, with the ability to build trusted relationships across diverse groups and bring people on the journey.
  • Confidence facilitating complex conversations and building inclusive capability.
  • Strong analytical capability, including the ability to interpret data, assess risks and translate insights into decisions.
  • Experience leading projects, developing business cases and measuring impact.
  • Experience balancing strategic priorities with hands‑on delivery in a complex, fast‑paced environment.

By joining Western Power, you will contribute to powering a cleaner energy future. We are dedicated to fostering career development and promoting a healthy work-life balance, empowering you to drive innovation as we develop a network that will serve the Western Australian community for generations. You will also benefit from a range of perks and opportunities, including:

  • Flexible work arrangements to support part time work, working hours and working from home arrangements.

  • In addition to standard leave, enjoy three wellness leave days each year.
  • 22 weeks paid parental leave and 5 days of First Nations cultural leave to support family and cultural connections.
