Engineering Technician – Permanent Full time – Perth CBD

Are you ready to play a vital role in powering WA’s energy future?

Join Western Power as an Engineering Technician, where you’ll support the reliability and performance of our real-time operational systems. This exciting opportunity puts you at the centre of SCADA system delivery, particularly commissioning in Master Station, ensuring seamless integration and optimal functionality. You’ll work with various stakeholders, ensuring alignment with broader business objectives related to SCADA commissioning, enhance documentation and support a culture of continuous improvement. Your Role in Action

  • Configure SCADA system, Pre-commission and Commission telemetry of devices in collaboration with field staff.
  • Ensure SCADA data users are confident in the accuracy and reliability of the SCADA and its applications.
  • Apply operational SCADA experience to technical evaluations, and other activities driven by the wider business.
  • Ensure Investigation reports meet schedule.
  • Contribute and participate in process improvement in SCADA undertaken individually or as part of a team.

What Makes You a Great Fit

  • Qualified in Electrical Trade or diploma in engineering with related power industry or control system background
  • At least 5 to 7 year’s demonstrated technical experience and knowledge in systems management
  • Computer literate - particularly with complex networked or distributed systems,
  • Familiarity with electrical transmission and distribution networks and equipment,
  • Familiarity with electrical network control room operations,
  • Experienced in construction, maintenance and operation of electrical distribution networks.
  • Knowledgeable in Western Power’s safe operating and network access practices.
  • Strong orientation towards engineering & technical excellence.
