THE ROLE
Our head office is seeking a Senior Metallurgist to support the GM – Metallurgy with all aspects of metallurgy and fixed plant operations.
- Provide support to site-based Plant Metallurgists offering metallurgical expertise for day-to-day operations
- Oversee small-scale studies and collaborate with third-party vendors to develop cost-effective solutions for plant operations.
- Actively participate in site metallurgical projects and testwork programs
- Deliver professional and timely reports concerning study outcomes, testwork reviews and production analysis
- Identify and drive change to improve plant reliability and cost effectiveness
- Organise, liaise and co-ordinate external consultants/contractors for project and CAPEX work
- Oversee site reagent usage and offer guidance on the optimisation of reagent consumption
- Actively promote a high level of safety awareness, lead from the front and by example
- Attend site as required
WHAT DO I NEED
- Current “C” Class Manual Western Australian driver’s licence
- Minimum 5 – 10 years’ experience in an equivalent role within the gold ore processing industry
- Tertiary qualification in Metallurgy / Mineral Processing or Chemical Engineering
- Ability to apply sound metallurgical or engineering concepts in study and design work
- Demonstrated track record in analytical problem-solving together with an aptitude to problem solving
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize workloads while maintaining quality and staying in control of work priorities with a steady, proactive approach
- Advanced computer literacy and the ability to prepare communication, reports & presentations by utilising the Microsoft Office Suite/Applications
- Solid communication skills, with the ability to build strong, collaborative, and successful working relationships with your team
