About the WesTrac Apprenticeship Program
We have a total of 20 positions available, with the below trades and locations on offer.
- Mobile Plant Mechanics - Newcastle, Dubbo, Canberra, Bathurst, Tamworth, Wagga Wagga, Grafton, Mudgee and Casula
- Fitter Machinists - Mt Thorley (Hunter Valley) and Newcastle
- Spray Painters - Newcastle
- Auto Electricians - Newcastle, Casula
- Boilermakers - Mt Thorley and Newcastle
- High Voltage Electrician - Mt Thorley

An Apprenticeship with WesTrac allows you to earn while you learn. Apprenticeships last for a 4 year period and upon completion you will have gained a nationally recognised trade qualification and a wealth of both business and industry exposure.
You will develop the skills and knowledge needed to become an expert in your chosen trade and have the ability to learn from some of the best in the field. You will also be supported by our in house Registered Training Organisation, an external Apprenticeship Network Provider and be guided by our Trade Program Development Manager to ensure you receive the practical and theoretical training you need to grow into an outstanding tradesperson.

How to Apply:
To be considered for these exciting opportunities you must submit an online application before the closure date. Applicants need to be over 16 years of age by February 1st, 2022 and have a drivers licence or the ability to arrange travel to and from work each day and to Tomago periodically for training. Mature aged applicants are encouraged to apply.
You will be prompted to upload a current resume, covering letter and will need to answer a short series of application questions. In your covering letter tell us why you’re interested in your chosen trade, why you want to be part of our WesTrac Family and what you hope to do once you’re Trade Qualified. We would also love to hear about any training or projects you have completed that are related to the trade you’re applying for.

Applications have been extended until Sunday July 11th 2021. The first stage of assessment is an online skills test that will be sent to your email within 3 weeks of your application submission. Be sure to check your junk and spam folders for the assessment. Individuals who do not complete the online assessment within the specified time frame will be unable to progress to the next stage.
