About the role
Due to an internal transfer, WesTrac is currently seeking a Branch Manager to lead our team within the Component Rebuild Centre (CRC) based at Tomago. This role is full time and permanent, leading and managing a dynamic team of administration, customer support and operational staff and reports directly to Regional Manager – Tomago Operations.
The CRC operates 24/7 and specialises in component overhauls for Caterpillar equipment customers.
As the Branch Manager, you will be accountable for overseeing the financial and operational performance of the CRC, including the management of customer relationships, whilst providing supervision and leadership to the team members within their allocated area to ensure safety, quality and efficiency are of the highest standard resulting in exceptional customer satisfaction.
We are looking for a leader who can mentor and lead a team to perform to the best of their ability and one who can identify and mentor our future leaders. The ideal candidate will be a values-based leader who can demonstrate an ability to promote ongoing improvements to process and culture.
Integral to this position is the requirements to effectively manage process efficiencies and engage with the sales team to ensure our customer needs are fulfilled.
Key Responsibilities
- Developing and enhancing the culture of the CRC
- Overseeing the financial and operational performance of the CRC
- Management of customer relationships
- Providing supervision and leadership to the team
- Promoting safety, quality and efficiency are of the highest standard resulting in exceptional customer satisfaction
- Promote and empower the team to drive continuous improvement activities within the CRC and throughout the business
Skills & Experience
As the successful candidate you will possess the following skills:
- Proven experience managing a large team in a complex operational environment
- Demonstrated experience successfully implementing Lean methodology
- Demonstrated industry experience in an operational, maintenance, engineering or manufacturing environment
- Highly developed commercial business acumen skills with the ability to successfully manage customer relationships, budgets, data analysis and compile reports
- Short and long-term maintenance and workshop planning experience
- Strong technical knowledge of Caterpillar or similar heavy mobile equipment
- Tertiary qualification in Business, Engineering or related field will be highly regarded
You will possess a professional and proactive approach to your work, with proven experience in supporting high performance teams. As a strong communicator and influencer, you will have the ability to work effectively across all levels of the business and be adept in negotiating and problem solving.
