Service Advisor | Bathurst

About the role

WesTrac is currently seeking an experienced Service Advisor to join our team. This role will be on a Monday-Friday full time basis based at our branch in Bathurst.

Reporting to the Branch Manager, the Service Advisor is responsible for accurately estimating the costs of rebuild jobs for customers within the Bathurst region. Focusing on problem solving and efficiency within the branch, this role will involve collaboration with team members to ensure all quotations meet Caterpillar standards. The Service Advisor will assist in the development and maintenance of forecast planning for the workshop, ensuring that scheduled workloads are tracked efficiently with optimal resources to maximise workshop productivity.

Placing a key focus on customer relationships, the Service Advisor will ensure clear and effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders regarding job requirements, parts requirements and status updates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse rebuilds jobs and projects to assess their viability whilst developing and implementing plans to ensure successful outcomes
  • Develop scopes of work, estimates and quotes
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, resulting in a clearer understanding of rebuild forecasts and requirements
  • Maintain a library of standard pricing, regular jobs & quotation data
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement to enhance processes, drive efficiencies and improve customer service

Skills & experience

  • Demonstrated experience within a project management or estimating role
  • Experience with pricing and planning systems and tools (MS Project, Smartsheet, Uptake, Excel)
  • Familiarity with Caterpillar products (desirable)
  • Excellent organisational skills with proven ability to manage fluctuating workloads
  • Ability to problem solve whilst having well-developed analytical & decision-making abilities
  • Excellent customer service skills with the ability to develop strong positive relationships
  • Communication skills with well-developed negotiation & conflict resolution skills
  • Computer literacy skills – MS Office
