About our role:
We are seeking an Infrastructure & Platforms Lead to provide senior leadership across WGA’s infrastructure and platform services. Reporting to the Chief Information Officer, this role is responsible for ensuring our technology foundations are secure, resilient, supportable and fit for growth.
You will lead the operational management and controlled evolution of WGA’s hybrid infrastructure environment, covering cloud platforms, core systems, identity and access, networking, endpoints, collaboration services and operational security controls. This role translates strategic direction into practical standards, roadmaps and delivery priorities, balancing service quality, risk, performance and business needs.
Working closely with business leaders, engineering teams, technology peers and suppliers, you will ensure infrastructure and platforms actively support project delivery, engineering workflows and organisational growth across Australia and New Zealand. You will also lead and develop a small specialist team and contribute to broader technology and security uplift initiatives as WGA continues to grow.
About you:
You are a pragmatic, credible infrastructure leader who enjoys operating at the intersection of technology, people and delivery. You bring strong hands‑on technical experience, combined with the judgement to know where standards, controls and change need to be introduced gradually and sustainably.
You will bring:
- Proven leadership of hybrid infrastructure and platform environments, predominantly within Microsoft ecosystems, with exposure to adjacent cloud platforms such as Azure
- Strong practical experience across networking, identity and access, endpoints, collaboration, remote access and operational resilience
- The ability to provide authoritative technical guidance on complex issues while maintaining a strong operational focus
- Experience lifting infrastructure, security and service maturity in growing or mixed‑maturity organisations
- A risk‑based, pragmatic approach to security, controls and service management, including exposure to frameworks such as Essential Eight, DISP, ASD8 or ISO 27001
- Strong stakeholder and supplier management skills, with the confidence to influence, challenge and build trust
- Demonstrated people leadership experience, supporting teams through change and evolving standards
- An understanding of infrastructure and platform requirements that support engineering, large‑file workflows and emerging AI‑enabled services
- Experience in engineering consultancies, professional services, or multi‑site environments (including Australia and New Zealand) will be highly regarded
