About our Role:
WGA's Geotechnical team boasts some of the most sought after technical and practical mentors across the industry and a capacity to provide project opportunities across an unrivalled range of markets. Our team works across major transport, buildings, energy and resources projects whilst also being able to develop project leadership and design management capability across smaller packages of work, allowing Engineers to fast track their career. Due to increased workload in a variety of areas we are looking for versatile people able to assist with liaising with clients, writing proposals, geotechnical reporting and geological models and design and documentation for foundations, retaining walls, earthworks, slope stability and rock mapping and maritime structures. You will be responsible for the development, design and management of geotechnical projects from start to end.
About you:
- BE (Civil), MIEAust, CPEng.
- Proven experience as a Senior Geotechnical Engineer (within a multi-disciplinary environment is highly advantageous).
- Proficient with a range of limit equilibrium software for the design of slopes, retaining walls and piles (e.g. SLIDE, WALLAP, PIGLET or similar). Familiarity with finite element software (e.g. PLAXIS).
- Membership of the Australian Geomechanics Society would be considered favourably.
- Extensive experience in the design, engineering, and commissioning of geotechnical engineering projects and familiarity with geotechnical conditions Australia wide
- Ability to build strong, professional relationships
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
