About us:
WGA is an Australian and New Zealand company like no other - we are owned by our employees, loved by our long-term clients and have deep roots in our communities. With a team of over 680 people, WGA provides a rich, diverse, and empowered workplace, and offers you a chance to work alongside some of the best in the business.

WGA offers an outstanding working environment that fosters and supports mutual learning, respect, dignity, cultural openness, and an appreciation of differing perspectives and backgrounds. We strive to offer inspiring career paths and a selection of fantastic employee benefits including exceptional parental leave options, flexible hours and learning and development programs.

About our role:
We are on the lookout for an experienced, 'hit the ground running' HR professional to join our fast-paced national People & Culture (P&C) team. If you enjoy solving complex challenges, have a solutions-focused mindset, and want to be part of a thriving team, then this is the role for you.

This position will work closely with the SA Regional Leadership teams, be based in our CBD Adelaide office, and report to the Group P&C Manager based in Melbourne.

The P&C BP will be responsible for providing business partnering to foster a positive workplace experience, drive organisational capability and performance and ensure WGA's purpose, vision and values are lived and experienced. A key component of this role will be to work as part of the broader P&C team to support the development, implementation, and adoption of people and culture initiatives that support our business strategy.

Key responsibilities will include:
  • Provide day to day advice, coaching, recommendations and solutions to leaders and employees to support an inclusive, diverse, engaged and performing team;
  • Partner with the business to ensure that talent is being optimally managed, ensuring that they have, or are developing, appropriate workforce capability for the future;
  • Provide expert advice and coordination across all aspects of the employee lifecycle, including performance review, talent, succession, remuneration, training, and development;
  • Manage induction, onboarding and offboarding processes to ensure delivery of the workforce plan;
  • Contribute to the research, development and implementation of group-wide people and culture policies, processes and projects to solve business issues and contribute to implementing the business and P&C strategies;
  • Prepare reports to summarise people metrics and drive business success through deriving insights from data and converting insights into meaningful actions.
To be successful in this role you will need:
  • Relevant qualifications in human resources or a related field and experience in a service-oriented P&C BP role, ideally within professional services/consulting or a construction environment;
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a small team but to also resolve and take ownership of issues;
  • Strong stakeholder management, negotiation, facilitation, and communication skills with the ability to engage and influence;
  • Demonstrated planning and organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise tasks and needs whilst maintaining attention to detail and confidentiality in a matrix organisation;
  • Intermediate skills and knowledge of the MS Office suite and experience working across HRIS systems (we use Employment Hero, Job Adder and Culture Amp);
  • The ability to exercise sound judgment with a mature approach.
About working with us:
At WGA we believe a diverse workplace fosters unique and progressive ideas and drives our culture of learning and sharing knowledge.
