The Technical Services Superintendent is accountable for providing technical services and support to the Maules Creek Coal open-cut operations. This will include managing all facets of Geotechnical, Geology, Coal Quality, Water Engineering, Survey and Projects

In this role, your duties will include, but not be limited to:

  • Standardise and oversee Technical Services team activities and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
  • Coach develop, lead and mentor Water Engineers, Surveyors, Geologists and Geotechnical Engineers
  • Effectively allocate work team resources to manage the people, systems and provide technical direction, input and advice for the safe mining of resources,
  • Actively contribute to, assist and share knowledge and information with your team aimed at improving safety, work processes, cost and teamwork

Who are we looking for?

The following skills and experience will see the ideal candidate succeed in this position:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or other related discipline
  • Extensive experience in the Mining Industry
  • Demonstrated experience with mining software packages such as Vulcan, Spry, Minex, Deswik, Xpac
  • Capacity to lead and develop a multi-disciplined technical team
  • Live local to the Gunnedah region or willingness to relocate
