About The Role
An important member of the Senior Mine Management team, the Technical Services Manager will be responsible for providing leadership and support to our NCO technical services positions including Mine Engineers, Geologists, Geotechnical Engineers and Ventilation Officers.
Reporting to the General Manager, this position is accountable for supporting our production teams with geology, planning, strata management, ventilation, gas management and mine survey information so as to ensure safe and productive mining outcomes.
FIFO available from Newcastle or Wollongong regions for the right candidate.
What You’ll Do
- Provide the mine with support and services in mine geology ensuring regular underground surveys and geological hazards are communicated with operational crews
- Develop the mine’s strata management rules and monitoring programmes
- Ensure that gas management programmes for the mine are in place and regularly monitored
- Provide input into all aspects of mine design, including capital projects and conceptual mine development
- Responsible for oversight of optimisation studies/mine expansions
- Develop accurate annual budgets and forecasts for the technical services department
What You’ll Bring
- Tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering or related disciplines
- Mine Engineering Manager’s Certificate of Competency
- Extensive experience in underground coal mining
- Experience in contractor management and project management
