About The Role
The Senior AHS Engineer is responsible for the safe and productive operation of the Autonomous Haulage System through the management and monitoring of autonomous haul truck fleet movement and interactions, in accordance with the Production Plan. The Senior AHS Engineer will manage a small team of AHS Engineers within the AHS Project team while supporting the Production, Technical Services and other teams at Maules Creek.
This role is considered local, so required to live in or relocate to the Gunnedah area in regional NSW.
What You’ll Do
- Maintain and optimise safe autonomous mining operations through the identification, communication and management of optimisation opportunities
- Ensure data integrity standards are met through real-time data validation
- Monitor and communicate issues with the virtual mine model to the AHS Supervisor and AHS builder
- Work in a dynamic, fast-paced and challenging environment
- Continuous improvement approach to process and governance within AHS
- Comply with all of Whitehaven’s policies and procedures, and adhere to Whitehaven’s code of conduct and a high level of discipline
What You’ll Bring
- Tertiary degree in Engineering or Information Technology (or equivalent);
- Senior/Supervisor experience with FMS, AHS and/or a control room setting;
- Mining experience and a concise understanding of safety processes and systems;
- Experience with web-based analytics and reporting software (E.g., PowerBI);
- Have a high level of computer literacy and comfort with emerging technologies
- Wenco Suite of Software management experience (desirable); and
- Experience with Hitachi Autonomous Haulage System (desirable).
