About The Role
Following the successful acquisition of Daunia and Blackwater metallurgical coal mines from BHP and Mitsubishi Development in a US$3bn plus deal, we have created a new role in our Group Finance team.
Reporting to the Manager – Business Planning and Analytics the Business Analyst will support budgeting, forecasting and commercial analysis across the consolidated group comprising both NSW and QLD operations.
This role is based in our Sydney CBD office and we are looking for an immediate start.
What You’ll Do
- Assist with the Annual budget, business plan and periodic forecasting submissions to Senior Management
- Tracking and monitoring of departmental costs v budget including IT, Operations, Legal etc
- Scenario modelling and decision support.
- Develop and maintain budgeting and forecasting templates and models
- Ad-hoc analysis to support strategic business investments and initiatives.
- Financial management and analysis of group KPIs and operational/commercial drivers.
- Drive continuous process improvement.
What You’ll Bring
- CA/CPA qualification
- Strong financial modelling skills with advanced Excel.
- Proven budgeting, forecasting and financial planning experience, preferably within a group function
- Experience in providing financial analysis to support decision making.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience with Business Performance Management software is desirable (e.g. IBM Planning Analytics)
