About the Role
With our recent acquisition of both Daunia and Blackwater Mines, we are seeking an experienced Asset Specialist that will responsible for the management, maintenance, and optimisation of dragline equipment within Whitehaven’s QLD mining operations based in our Brisbane office.
Reporting into the Superintendent Asset Strategy & Performance, you will ensure that draglines operate efficiently and reliably, contributing to the overall productivity and safety of our mining sites.
What You’ll Do
- Governance an implementation of the Asset Strategies for Draglines and Shovels
- Oversee Strategy Optimisation for Draglines and Shovels to improve equipment performance by completing asset health reviews, working with OEMs on reliability improvement and governing equipment strategies
- Accountable for development of Draglines and Shovels life cycle plans and analysis
- Accountable for the governance and development of Draglines and Shovels Asset Standards
- Provide Defect Elimination support for operations to improve equipment performance, reduce waste and variability and optimise cost
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mining Engineering, or a related field. Relevant certifications or trade qualifications may be considered.
- Extensive experience in heavy equipment maintenance, preferably with draglines in a mining environment.
- Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems related to draglines. Proficiency in diagnostic tools and maintenance software.
- Ability to analyse complex data and make informed decisions to improve equipment performance.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for reporting and team collaboration.
- Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and addressing issues.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe working environment and promoting a culture of safety.
