About Blackwater Mine:
Situated 73 kilometres south-east of Emerald, Blackwater is the second-largest open-cut metallurgical coal mine in the Bowen Basin. This long-life operation began in 1967 and has grown to become one of the longest coal mines in the Southern Hemisphere, with a strike length of 80 kilometres. Blackwater extracts high quality metallurgical and thermal coal for the export market using truck and shovel, as well as loader and dragline.About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Multi Skilled Operators to join us as at our newly acquired Blackwater Mine.
Multi-Skilled Operatorsareaccountable for the safe and efficient operation of mining equipment to meet production and budgetary targets.You will possess a strong depth of understanding and proven experience safely operating the machinery listed below. You will be required to provide your competency certifications and licenses on these machines.

- Dozers
- Excavators
- Dump Truck
Other Machinery used:
- Graders
- Water Carts
- Loaders
- Scrapers
What You’ll Do

Contribute to the safe and efficient operation of machinery in an pen cut environment to maximise production

Conduct routine operational and safety activities to effectively prepare for and manage operational workload

Identifies and assesses risks, makes risk informed decisions, uses the company’s risk management framework
What You’ll Bring

Experience and RII in the essential machinery listed above.

A positive attitude towards safety, improvement, training & environment

Ability to maintain a high work output level

Ability to adhere and live the Whitehaven Values and contribute to a collaborative organisational culture.

Open-cut production mining experience with statements of competency/VOC’s for equipment

Ability to pass a QLD Coal Board Medical

Trainer / assessor certification well considered but not essential
