About the Role
As a Project Development Manager and lead the full scope of development activities on key projects. Work with external consultants and in-house stakeholders to secure land, obtain regulatory approvals, engage with the community, assess resources, and handle engineering. Support our Directors and General Manager in managing our project portfolio and planning business development.
Duties to include:
- Greenfield development of wind, solar and BESS projects
- Regulatory and environmental permitting for Federal, State and Local land use and transmission requirements
- Support GIS data management including basic spatial analysis and mapping
- Preparation and management of project development schedules and budgets
- Maintain all key project registers (risk register, stakeholder register, etc) and proactively anticipate and resolve/mitigate issues and risks as they arise
- Provide input to reports and presentations as required by the Director, Development including performance against schedule and budget
- Support land securement, community engagement and other project tasks as required, and coordinate these efforts as part of overall project development
- Regular travel to site(s). Requirement to be flexible with working hours to accommodate landowner, community and stakeholder availability and travel requirements
Who we are looking for:
You will be an enthusiastic self-starter who has a collaborative approach, whilst being able to build and develop strong professional relationships. Your ability to negotiate and influence when dealing with diverse stakeholder groups is crucial. Having extensive project management & development experience within infrastructure and/or energy projects is critical to the success of the role, along with a high level of technical, legal and strong analytical skills. You will uphold high ethical standards consistent with Windlab’s safety, personnel, and community values.
Additional Skills/Experience
- Consistent track record of driving projects to deliver outcomes in accordance with project budget and schedule
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically to resolve problems and deliver projects
- Be able to work both autonomously and within a diverse team, with multiple remote work environments
- Outstanding interpersonal, oral and written communication skills, and organisation skills
- Ability to be proactive, anticipating needs, find opportunities
