The Role
The eCom Category Manager brings the BIG W digital offer to life by giving our customers greater choice when they shop and in doing so drive conversion and sales growth online.
Some other job responsibilities would include
- Partner with Commercial teams to develop long term and short term online category plans that:
- Deliver a curated range to meet key customer missions and needs
- Offers a cohesive customer experience
- Enables us to acquire new customers as well as resonate with our existing customers
- Meet budget, sales and profit targets
- Deliver category growth
- Achieves market share objectives against competitors
- Create a positive and collaborative work environment with cross-functional partners to allow for alignment and execution of strategies to exceed goals
- Partner with the Commercial teams to obtain leading offers and deals for our website, digital only events, affiliates offers, EDM’s, and below the line communications for their category
- Partner with the Commercial team to drive the selection and strategy of online range, including Drop Ship Vendor Range, Marketplace, and Online Only range
- Partner with the Site Operations team, Planning, and Replenishment teams to improve availability in their category
- Partner with DX and Content teams to recommend product placement and content enhancements to the website
- Develop joint business plans with Woolies X to ensure alignment with internal initiatives
- Develop strategic partnerships through value creation with supplier partners to maximise growth opportunities including Online Only Ranging, SEM, online competitions, and exclusives
- Leverage customer and commercial insights, giving guidance and recommendations on the best digital merchandising approach for their category
- Participate & Assist in cross functional Digital retros to drive continuous improvement
- Understand and work within disciplined ways of working to ensure timelines are met, stakeholders are engaged appropriately and processes are efficient and cost effective
- Act as a Digital Champion and support the development of a ‘digital mindset’ across all stakeholder teams
- Develop as an agile and collaborative digital team member, that adapts to change and is focused on the customer
About You
- Previous experience in a Buying / Category Management role for a large multichannel retail business/ eCommerce and/or Digital Experience
- Previous Experience as a known and trusted business partner in a fast paced environment
- Exceptional communication & problem solving skills
- A strong track record in delivering quality outcomes
- Demonstrated experience in innovative product and or business capabilities
- Retail experience will be highly regarded
