About the role:
The Processing Specialist plays a pivotal role in driving and supporting the processing performance and quality outcomes for the meat that Greenstock processes through its network of primary (abattoir) processing sites to support the fulfilment of customer demand. This role will see you work with multiple teams from Greenstock, Woolworths and our processing site to optimise site performance with regards to achieving specifications, yield requirements and develop/implement new products/processed. In this true business partnering role, you will partner with a range of internal and external stakeholders across the Woolworths ecosystem and our processing plants to collaboratively drive strong performance results.
This role will also see you:
- Work with the primary processing sites to optimise performance with regards to the achievement of primal specifications and yield requirements.
- Support the development and implementation/refinement of new/existing primals through both the primary (abattoir) processing plants
- Analyse the data and processing site performance, in conjunction with site visits and along with processing site input to develop and implement site and species specific plans.
- Work closely with both internal and external stakeholders to identify, develop and implement change and ensure consistent, reliable supply for our customers.
- Some monthly travel required between various processing sites on the East Coast predominately up to 2-3 times a month.
A bit about you:
You have a deep understanding of meat processing, yield development/analysis and carcass standards gained through your experience working within the meat processing industry. You’re a naturally curious self-starter, with an innovative mind that likes to drive new initiatives and ways of working. Most importantly, you understand the importance of fostering strong relationships with your stakeholders through a consultative and collaborative approach.
Ideally you will also have:
- Strong influencing and collaboration skills, with the ability to drive positive change and outcomes for all stakeholders.
- Industry experience in Meat Processing preferable.
- The ability to travel interstate 2-3 times a month.
- An analytical and curious mind with the ability to use various sources of data to shape insights and recommendations.
- Sound computer skills.
