This exciting role supports our team to deliver a range that is better for customers, simple to execute and enhances the customer perception of our value, quality & range. The primary role of a buyer is to procure sufficient levels of high quality produce to meet customer demand at competitive pricing, delivering to target sales, profit, market share & voice of customer objectives.
About the Role:
- Ensure stores’ stock requirements are met on a daily basis
- Negotiating competitive pricing to achieve the right customer and financial outcomes
- Ensure all product meets quality specifications at DC and effectively communicates with affected stakeholders
- Manage DC stock levels to company standards
- Manage internal and external operational stakeholders to build effective relationships
- Communicate seasonality/seasonal adjustments and other items necessary to the state/region buying
- Maintain Woolworths pricing systems (eg PMR,SAP) to ensure accurate pricing is reflected in stores
- Lead, develop and contribute to a high performing culture in line with Woolworths values
About You:
We are looking for a Buyer who is looking to join a strong team of performers in a key category within our supermarkets. A passion for relationship building and making a difference in our stores and for our customers will take you far!
You will focus on improving and enhancing our customers' perception of our value, quality, range and product availability. Being the successful candidate will see you manage key strategic Initiatives, as well as deliver targets on sales growth, profitability and market share.
To be successful you will have:
- Previous buying experience or exposure to commercial buying
- Sound commercial acumen
- Be customer centric and able to develop a customer focused plan
- Demonstrated the ability to negotiate and influence with cross functional and external stakeholders
- An innovation and continuous improvement focused mentality
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- The ability to use customer insights and data to make strategic and commercial business decisions
- Proven ability of delivering against KPIs within previous roles
