The Role
The Material Risk Specialist is a pivotal role within the Safety, Health, and Wellbeing function, responsible for providing subject matter expertise in risk management to the Supermarkets. You will play a crucial role in improving the Safety systems and process and risk maturity across Health, Safety and Wellbeing, through partnering with the organisation to enhance risk practices, processes, and training. You will also lead safety and risk identification, assessment, and reporting initiatives, engaging a range of stakeholders across the business.
Responsibilities
- Development, implementation, and end to end management of the Safety, Health, and Wellbeing risk profile for our Supermarkets.
- Implementation of an effective Safety, Health, and Wellbeing risk management program for the physical environments of our Supermarkets business.
- Create quality Safety risk management frameworks to ensure risk management is part of all safety, health, and wellbeing plans, programs, and initiatives.
- Educate and embed key legislative requirements regarding Safety risk management into systems, processes, and decision making.
- Provide quality evidence based data to mitigate and manage risks.
- Lead new design and implementation reviews to drive better outcomes for business, team, and customers.
- Provide informed advice and recommendations on prioritisation for Safety risk based decision making on capital investment or improvement programs.
Who we’re looking for
Ideally, you will have a strong Safety, Health and Wellbeing technical understanding of risk management and critical risk management and have proven experience in developing and leading large-scale Safety risk programs. You will demonstrate forward-thinking abilities to anticipate changes in the Safety risk landscape at a business level by leveraging insights from diverse sources. You will have effective influencing, engagement and communication skills, as well as the ability to manage competing priorities to tight timeframes.
You will have
- Tertiary qualifications in Safety, Health, and Wellbeing or equivalent and/or relevant industry experience.
- 7+ years of Safety, Health, and Wellbeing experience in FMCG, Retail, Customer focused, high risk industry, or fast paced business is preferred.
- Strong technical Safety, Health, and Wellbeing experience, specifically in establishing risk profiles and ongoing management of Safety, Health, and Wellbeing material and operational risks.
- Knowledge of State and Territory legislative requirements, standards, and codes of practice
