The Role
Working with Internal and External Stakeholders you will serve as the primary point of contact for implementation of design standards, brand imaging, and prototype designs for evolving Customer Value Propositions. You will lead the design process when documenting new Blueprint Reference Packs (BRP) inclusive of detailed drawings, details and specifications and guidelines.


Key responsibilities:

  • Provide technical architectural expertise to Woolworths 360 teams to support better execution, development opportunities and innovation of stores across all banners (Supermarkets, Metro & Big W)
  • Partner with our internal design team to create and implement the specifications and design and construction principles and all associated documents and communication, that will dictate the build and fitout program across the Group.
  • Partner with Format Development Managers, Safety Teams, Planners, Project Managers and Standards Managers to produce Guidelines that assist with communicating the intent and detail behind the BRP design.
  • Develops and maintains standard guidelines (Blueprint Reference Pack) for site planning and prototype building designs that are consistent with best practice standards.
  • Assures drafting of site and building construction documents strictly adhere to safe design principles, building codes, and Woolworths requirements
  • Ensure standards remain current and fit for purpose through regular review processes,
  • Provide technical support to manage the integrity of store designs to enable sound operating practices which prevent and control incidents (Safety, Delay, incorrect implementation)
  • Ensure process and practice results in a smooth flight path from design concept to store planning, specs and into build.
  • Deliver significant step change improvements in design, planning, construction and store lifecycle


Who we’re looking for
To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Previous design/planning experience (within retail or project management experience preferred)
  • High level of retail planning experience with design, commercial or financial understanding desirable
  • Expertise in design and construction specification
  • Ability to work with Internal and External Stakeholders on how to best implement design in simple & complex stores
  • Strong knowledge of safety requirements in design and specification decisions
  • Understanding of construction methodology highly regarded
  • Software capabilities within Revit is required
  • Strong knowledge and practical experience in use of Google apps (or Microsoft Office)
