About the Opportunity
Due to internal promotion, we now have an exciting opportunity for a Business Analyst to join our well respected Supermarkets Finance team. This is a role with high visibility across Greenstock and Group stakeholders across Buying and Finance. Our diverse team is well embedded, with exposure to the E2E Greenstock ecosystem.
About the role
Reporting to the Senior Business Analyst and alongside another Business Analyst, you will be responsible for providing reporting and analysis of actual Sales and GP for our Meat business, as well as providing insightful analysis and decision support to the Merchandise Managers and Category Managers as a key finance partner. Furthermore, you will have the opportunity to engage end to end across the multiple business functions to drive end to end value.
Key responsibilities
- Lead the weekly, monthly and quarterly analysis of Meat financial performance with diligent analysis on market drivers of supply and demand
- Provide insightful analysis and clear commentary by working with the Category Managers and Merchandise Manager on key drivers and performance trends
- Support the Commercial team to accurately forecast future Sales and GP for weekly outlooks, budgeting and strategic planning purposes
- Involvement in higher risk forecast planning (e.g Xmas) and ensuring end to end alignment
- Identify promotional investment risks and ensuring they’re managed and captured in the forecast result
- Partner with stakeholders to develop workable action plans in relation to adverse trends
- Partner with the commercial team to develop & implement robust strategic capital initiatives
- Partner with the commercial, pricing and strategy team to build and implement strategic initiatives to look at price and market share
- Partner with Greenstock finance team to understand end to end opportunities, focusing on promotional effectiveness and supplementary purchase impacts.
- Ad hoc analysis and project related work on investment buys, promotional tool and automation
- Champion our Always Improving and Finance Transformation Goals as we focus on maximising the opportunity that data and technology in finance presents
About you

- GCP - essential
- Advanced excel / modelling - essential
- Experience modelling trading terms - essential
- Good understanding of price strategy and promo effectiveness - essential
- Good appreciation of category management principles - essential
- Multinational FMCG or 4 experience - highly regarded
- SAP and Business Objects - advantageous
- Supported sales teams across national retail (ie,. Coles, Woolworths, or international equivalent) across grocery or liquor - advantageous
- CA / CPA Qualification - advantageous
To succeed, you must posess strong analytical skills and attention to detail as well as ability to see the real life situations and products behind the numbers and being inquisitive to learn more about them.
