About the Role
As part of the Micro Space Optimisation team, the Specialist will play a lead role in driving space optimisation of products within in-store displays, i.e. planograms. Working alongside the Merchandisers, you will be responsible for building action lists in the planogram generator software capability that delivers customer-driven, insight-led store-specific planograms.

As we continue to differentiate our brand, you will be part of the transformation journey within the Group Micro Space team. Our team continues to introduce new capabilities and data-driven innovation to offer the best localised product range to our supermarket customers. You will work closely with the buying partners, operations, Ranging Analytics, and Micro Space Merchandisers teams and ultimately provide front-line analysis to enable great customer outcomes.
Key responsibilities are as follows, but are not limited to:
- Creation of category-specific planogram targets ensuring maximum space optimisation is achieved
- Creation and governance of any applied action lists, ensuring category strategy, operational metrics, merchandising guidelines, and continued optimisation are reflected in the output
- Support, identify, and offer solutions to all relevant stakeholders to enable efficiency and tailored range through the Planogram generator capability
- Working closely with the team to identify unique category complexities and provide solutions through action/rule sets builds
- Planning and workload management of all Micro Space controllable milestones, dependencies, and activities within a range review
- Ensuring regular adherence to review timelines in collaboration with various teams during the rollout
- Conducting pre and post review analysis as well as other additional data insight requests
- Manage day to day relationships with all relevant stakeholders, ensuring a high level of collaboration is developed and maintained across the business
- Provide insight through the use of Quantium, Buying insight, Blue Yonder (formerly JDA) suite of tools
- Focus on continuous improvement and identification around areas of opportunity
About You
- You are currently a curious and experienced Analyst with a passion for customer insights who is looking to take on a new challenge that requires expertise in interpreting data and deriving actionable insights to make customer-focused & commercially-viable recommendations.
- You demonstrate a high level of curiosity to continually challenge yourself and your team to deliver the most optimal product space allocation through the use of rules/action lists
- You have strong stakeholder management ability with good communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to translate technical concepts into business language
- You adapt to new situations, and know-how to maximise value, sometimes, with limited information and inputs.
Ideally, you have a detailed understanding of the Planogram Generator Software's capability & administrative systems (such as SAP and Blue Yonder, ideally) that manage data in addition to software suites such as Google and Microsoft.
