The Opportunity

As an Innovation Chef Intern, you will support lead Innovation Chefs within the Woolworths New Food Product & Innovation Chapter, to create chef inspired products that are exciting and innovative. This is also a great opportunity to learn about key roles within Woolworths, and gain a better understanding of how we develop products that you see in the supermarket.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Innovation Chefs with recipe creation and ideas, i.e. developing recipes & creating impressive retail-ready products prototypes using your culinary experiences.
• Recipe writing for internal and external communication teams
• Help create a food culture within Woolworths & externally through cooking classes, product demos and in store support
• Researching & Presenting on current & future food trends to key stakeholders
• Challenge the status quo in order to promote innovative thinking and new solutions
• Demonstrate a positive and winning attitude towards challenging situations; commit to challenging goals, and feel a sense of satisfaction from overcoming obstacles and achieving those goals

You have passion about anything food, while also at the same time taking into consideration and understanding of customer needs!

• Able to research food trends and then report to key stakeholders
• Have some catering and event experience with attention to detail
• Understanding food safety and being able to ensure kitchen procedures are followed
• Ability to plan details and then be flexible to adapt to the change.
• Flexibility as occasional evenings and weekend work may be required
• First aid certificate
