Through this partnership, we’ve created a new business called wiq (formerly known as Q-Retail) who will harness the best of Woolworths Group and Quantium to reimagine retail by solving the most complex problems using data and analytics. As a team, we leverage Agile ways of working to help our team develop their skills while also making sure our team is focusing on solving the most complex problems for both our customers and team.
About wiq
As a newly established business unit combining the best of Woolworths and the best of Quantium to solve advanced analytics problems across the Woolworths group and commercialise the innovative solutions to the global retailer market. wiq delivers four types of work; platform solutions and products, process tools and solutions, analytical solutions, foundational enablers.
The opportunity
This is a lead delivery manager role within wiq that will manage the end to end delivery of advanced analytics use cases.
This role has 2 main responsibilities; scrum master and project management. The lead delivery manager will be responsible for running all agile ceremonies for their assigned use cases as well as protecting the team from outside noise and distractions. Alongside this the lead delivery manager will facilitate the running of budgets, risks, documentation and reports to ensure the highest standards of delivery are adhered to.
The lead delivery manager will be an integral part of the delivery practice providing team members with support and motivation. The lead delivery manager will share their knowledge and expertise to actively contribute to the development of others.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Skills
- Influences the design of the governance documentation and the delivery framework required for wiq, making pragmatic decisions on which governance documentation and delivery framework to apply for each use case based on complexity and size of use case
- Facilitate the completion of the documentation to the highest standard
- Lead the creation of the business case for use cases
- Maintain an accurate and up to date financial forecast, leaning into the budget creation for the use case and wiq. Have foresight to raise any financial risks based on a deep understanding of the project's requirements, with the ability to present solution options.
- Provide accurate status reports for the project to stakeholders of all levels, whilst also influencing the design of any use case reporting
- Strategically identify risks ahead of time with the ability to design inventive mitigation solutions based on the understanding of the business, stakeholders and use case
- Strategically decide which agile ceremonies are relevant for a use case, justifying the why
- Ability to secure buy in from stakeholders at all levels to attend and participate in the sessions.
- Jira and Confluence champion. Teaching team members and encouraging squad wide adoption
- Maintain an accurate resource plan for use cases. Identify resource risks ahead of time implementing creative solutions to over come these
Commercial Skills
- Facilitate workshops to define the use case OKRs. A deep understanding of the strategic priorities of the use case and the business means a significant contribution can be made to the creation of OKRs
- Influence outcomes and scope projects to provide greater value to Woolworths & Quantium
- Build strategic relationships with stakeholders beyond the project and leverage strategic relationships to drive meaningful outcomes
- Contribute to the change management strategy based on a deep understanding of the business unit, their goals, resources and technologies
- Understand the strategic objectives of the business units and which agile methodologies would add value, championing these within the business
Team Skills
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders within wiq and the broader business to drive desired outcomes for the use cases
- Negotiate with stakeholders across Q-Retail to drive desired outcomes
- Motivate, Inspire and Coach team members within the capability practice and use case squads
- Communications that tell a story effectively for all stakeholders. Communications enables the outcomes to be achieved
Knowledge & Skills Required
- 5 years project management experience (essential)
- 2-3 years scrum master experience (essential)
- Data & Analytics experience – familiarity with machine learning & data
- Proven track record of delivering complex projects
- Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time
- Retail experience desirable but not essential
- Proficient with Delivery frameworks - agile, waterfall, lean. Certification preferred
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
- Ability to motivate teams providing guidance and support to achieve desired outcomes
- Strong understanding of the financial process for projects
- Ability to understand and translate technical jargon into business language
- Can do attitude, self motivator
- Comfortable with ambiguity and working in a fast paced environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
