The Opportunity
This exciting role reports to the GM of Supermarkets Safety, Health & Wellbeing and as the State Safety, Health & Wellbeing Manager you will be an integral member of the Supermarkets SHW Leadership Team. You will play a pivotal role in the delivery of our progressive SHW strategy. With a focus on care, purposeful education, coaching, implementing and embedding best practice processes to mitigate risk to team, customers and other stakeholders in store. Building strong trusting relationships across the above and below store network and Woolworths ecosystem is critical to achieve results in this role. We are more than just supermarkets. Key responsibilities
- Lead and coach the State Safety, Health and Wellbeing Partners (based in WA and SA also covering NT) to deliver the support required both in and above store.
- Investigations of incidents, collaborating with regulators, embedding improvements, updating processes, and taking a proactive approach to mitigate risks in stores.
- Create and build strong trusting relationships across the store network
- Lead weekly and monthly reporting and updates for all relevant internal stakeholders so as to drive improved performance across the State
- Lead a proactive approach to identify risks and embed risk reduction strategies where appropriate
- Collaborate across the State’s store network to deliver a consistent national safety, health and wellbeing plan.
- Accurately monitor internal and external trends and report on safety, health and wellbeing performance, proactively identify opportunities to improve risk reduction strategies
Who we are looking for
Individuals who lead with care, are resilient, results driven and who are able to effectively partner, negotiate and influence both stakeholders and team members, analyse and solve problems all while maintaining our focus of bringing a little good to everyone each day.
The keys to success:
- Degree qualified in OHS, Science, Health (or working towards) or equivalent experience
- A minimum of 5 years within a leadership role with proven safety leadership experience, FMCG industry (desirable)
- Experience leading and building connected teams with a collective drive for results
- Comprehensive understanding of safety health and wellbeing related legislation, standards and codes
- Excellent leadership skills and ability to drive cultural change and development
- Strong logical, analytical and problem solving abilities
- The ability to navigate an ever changing environment and pivot as required
- Flexibility and a motivation to travel across Western Australia, South Australia and Northern Territory
- A strong growth mindset with a desire to collaborate across teams
