About Us
At Woolworths, the Safety of our customers and team is critical. Our Safety & Wellbeing team is responsible for working with operational leaders to provide and maintain a safe working and shopping environment for our team members, customers, visitors, and contractors.
The Role
This role is an essential Safety, Health & Wellbeing (SH&W) Specialist position, which provides support to Woolworths Facilities Management (WFM) predominantly in the Proactive Services business arena.
The role itself is not a risk nor control owner and focuses on ensuring rigorous and consistent approaches to risk assessment and control establishment by WFM responsible operational leaders. The role will engage proactively with the WFM group by providing input to reports, tactical solutions to complicated problems and coaching in correct approaches to effective SH&W leadership and practice. The role will be central to building the key components of the safe systems of work utilised by a significant operational workforce.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Participate with a small team to establish robust and unambiguous processes.
- Create and present reports, presentations and recommendations for improvement
- Engage with all levels of WFM/Proactive Services in team meetings
- Visit sites with the SH&W teams
- Deliver training on risk assessment and controls establishment to all levels within Proactive Services and WFM
- Attend sites to facilitate effective risk assessment and controls establishment
- Participate in audits, inspections and reviews of work practices
- Establish risk and control specific guidance materials and have them available for use in the most appropriate platform.
- Author, consult and achieve consensus on SH&W processes
