The Role
The role of the Senior Media Manager - AU Food is to lead end-to-end, the way we sustainably bring our media strategy and customer plan to life within our paid, owned & earned media channels by marrying a rich understanding of brand strategy with media landscape and media consumption knowledge. The SMM is a business critical and highly coveted client side role and is the central director of our media delivery teams (Media Planners / Dentsu / idX) to ensure the most efficient and effective planning. To do this it requires close collaboration with the Tribe lead on projects reflecting the visions and ambitions of the Woolworths Food Group.
This role requires 10+ years of experience in media, with a minimum of 5 years in a leadership position working across all media channels on top-tier Australian brands.
About you
We are looking for a collaborative leader with strong persuasive skills that can hit the ground running with the below criteria:
- Experience working on large and fast-paced advertisers (retail a bonus!)
- Extensive Media Agency and/or Digital Publishers experience
- A motivated leader with a desire to support and grow their team’s abilities and wider the wider Brand & Marketing
- Digital media proficient with the ability to think outside the box
- Top to bottom of funnel Comms Planning expertise
- Tertiary education in Marketing, Communications or Business discipline (highly regarded)
- Demonstrated proactive and reactive media management skills
Deliverables
- End-to-end Media & Channel campaign planning excellence
- Manage in-house, external agencies & 3rd party suppliers to deliver campaign media excellence
- Define and deliver against media KPI’s that ladder to B&M ambitions
- Manage monthly financial forecast
- Cross-functional relationships
Desired Outcomes
- Lead and a support a team of specialists to deliver media and channel planning deliverables
- Help define and document role of channels across paid and owned as consistent guidelines for planning by team
- Develop and oversee a single source of channel planning truth to maximise productivity and balance limited resources with B&M’s ambitions.
- Gain owned channel owners buy-in and collaboration to align and strengthen their contribution to B&M communications.
- Productivity gains by consistently testing, learning and applying optimal media budgets, tactics and formats
- Timeline and process management across the Supermarkets media and channel planning deliverables
- Stakeholder management of key publisher partners
- Innovation in media and channel usage
- Analysis of 1st & 3rd party media reporting and comparison to brand tracking performance to determine effectiveness.
- Monitor and report competitive activity to illuminate B&M performance
- Ensure accurate monthly forecasting and spend in partnership with finance lead to come in on budget
- Forge and maintain first class relationships across internal and external functions
