Team Leader - Melbourne Fresh Distribution Centre

The Opportunity
We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate individual to join our leadership team. As a Team Leader, you will effectively lead and manage your assigned team to meet safety, operational, people, customer and financial performance expectations. This role is on afternoon shift working Tuesday - Saturday 14:00 - 22:30. This is a great opportunity to be part of Australia's biggest supply chain network that provides an essential service to Australia and our communities.
Your commitment to leadership and advocacy for our purpose of ‘connecting communities with the products they need and love will drive the success of your team and the DC. As a Team Leader you will be responsible for coaching, training and managing your team to achieve the best stock outcomes, getting the right stock to the right people at the right time and into the customer's hands.
Key Responsibilities
- Promoting safety values and implement safety, health and environment policies and systems
- Supporting the Shift Operations Manager in leading business, operational and special event planning
- Managing and monitoring operational KPI's to ensure resource planning is within budget and meets forecasts
- Building a high performance team through leadership, coaching and mentoring.
- Ensuring consistent practices exist within the DC, facilitate the sharing of ideas in a way that supports achievement of key measures and drives continuous improvement
- Liaising with key stakeholders and identify opportunities for the DC to continuously improve service, efficiencies and cost
- Supporting the management of 3PL's (transport) to ensure service levels and cost are optimised
Who we’re looking for
We’re looking for resilient, results driven individuals who are able to negotiate and influence with stakeholders at all levels. Who will also:
- Have the right level of resilience to work in our temperature-controlled environment, we work in 2 degrees all year round
- An efficient and effective operator and have the ability to deliver in our time-sensitive operating environment to meet our delivery commitments to our customers
- A hands-on approach and leading by example, drawing on your ability to engage and motivate others
- The capacity to work autonomously and make business-critical decisions to ensure positive outcomes
- Have a working knowledge of a broad range of distribution centre systems eg. JDA (Warehouse Management System
- Experience with various computer programs: Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, Google Suite
- Experience in a process-oriented, warehouse or distribution operations environment
- Understanding of supply chain operations is preferred
