What you’ll do
The Network Insights & Strategy Lead’s primary responsibility will be to provide strategic and economic assessment on potential opportunities / risk and development of solutions to be implemented for the online delivery network.
You will act as a key liaison across all related operational, logistics, property and development functions. This is in conjunction with working with operational teams to deliver a cost effective solution, and communicating them clearly to stakeholders, facilitators and wider Woolworths team.
- Support the Senior Network Strategy and Insights Manager in forming strategic views as required. This would involve the development and analysis of As-Is and To-Be scenarios which may include a number of To-Be options and the evaluation of each option in terms of customer impact, capacity, cost, service and capability.
- Support the long term development of an efficient, robust and competitive network by leveraging experience and industry knowledge to run a number of To-Be scenarios options and evaluate the impact in terms of capacity, cost and service.
- Development of documentation that supports the overall network strategy, such as the exit and timing of facilities, extensions to existing facilities and changes to either throughput or capabilities across the network.
- Data analysis and ad hoc reports that provide operations support and strategy decisions across the organisation.
- Develop robust but flexible analysis models using MS Excel / Google sheets and SQL
- Support the development of a strategic capacity insights tool to provide timely, accurate and up to date capacity information across all facilities in the Woolworths eCommerce logistics network.
What you’ll bring
We are looking for an experienced strategic thinker, ideally with exposure to logistics network analytics or logistics more generally. This role will be hands-on and requires technical proficiency in SQL and Tableau as well as excellent communication skills to work with a range of stakeholders across the business, with the ability to find alignment while considering conflicting priorities and different perspectives.
The Network Insights and Strategy Lead will have a problem solving mindset and will be responsible for developing and implementing innovative solutions and Network strategy that provide a competitive advantage for Woolworths eCommerce operations .
- 5+ years of analytics experience, ideally within logistics network analytics, or supply chain analytics
- Advanced analytics skills - Ability to generate value-add insights from complex data and make recommendations for short and long term strategies
- Exceptional analytical skills – proficient in Excel/Google Sheets, SQL (intermediate to advanced level) and Tableau or other data visualisation tools and the ability to develop analysis and recommendation storyboards
- An excellent understanding of retail and logistics fundamentals, alongside strong commercial acumen.
- Advanced communications & presentation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders and all levels
