Role Purpose
About this opportunity
We are looking for an Project Engineer – Major Transport Projects. Reporting to the Project Interface Manager this role involves:
- Assisting Project Managers on a range of duties for various precincts of the Melbourne Metro Tunnel Projects (MTP).
- Building effective working relationships across Yarra Trams, State Authorities and other external stakeholders to deliver project outcomes.
- Undertaking and document risk reviews and safety assessments of proposed tram infrastructure and operational changes associated with Major Transport Projects.
- Assisting on monitoring material procurement processes to ensure project material requirements are met.
- Managing defect identification, rectification and other requirements to achieve handover of completed Tram Works.
- Liaising with YT SMEs to facilitate preparation for and delivery of construction activities
About you
Ideally you will have/be:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant Civil, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering discipline
- Registered Engineer on National Engineering Register from Engineers Australia
- A White card
- Driver’s Licence
- 3 years plus of associated experience in rail infrastructure and construction environment.
- Demonstrable experience in compiling and writing technical reports.
- Basic understanding of Project Management Systems.
- Skilled understanding of relevant Acts, regulations and standards that impact upon a project including OH&S, Rail Safety Accreditation.
- Skilled understanding of Tram Infrastructure standards
- Confidence and flexibility to initiate change and work under pressure and in a rapidly changing environment
- Good understanding of tram operations, customer experience and road design
