About this opportunity

Reporting to the Manager, Security & Business Resilience a typical week in this role involves:

  • Lead and deliver on strategies and plans designed to improve preparedness and prevention activities and build response, resilience and recovery capability across the business.
  • Advise on and support systems required to respond to an emergency and/or business disruption event and provide education to the business about how to utilise these systems.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives for crisis management tools, systems, continuity planning and Emergency Response and Business Continuity Plans – looking at both business holistically and functional areas.
  • Exercising, training and developing skills of Senior Management to respond and recover from events that could significantly impact the continual operations of the business.
  • Monitor the quality and effectiveness of the Resilience Program by conducting regular audits, surveys, exercises and system tests.
  • Management of tools and technology to ensure capability to act and support is maintained.
  • Develop and maintain training programs for resilience, response, and recovery for the business and functional areas.
  • Promoting a strong safety & resilience culture within Yarra Trams and its partners
  • Represent Yarra Trams with the regulator and other State Department committees.

About you

Ideally you will have:

  • Relevant university degree and/or professional qualifications or experience
  • Experience in building, leading, and reviewing business resilience programs
  • An excellent understanding of risk methodology with experience in implementing risk management within an operational workplace
  • Demonstrated experience in the application and understanding of legislation, standards, etc.
  • Experience in writing, conducting or facilitating large multi-level emergency exercises
  • Previous relevant Crisis Management experience and knowledge
  • Proven experience in conducting risk assessments, audits and task observations
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to engage with various operators and personnel
  • Experience in people management
