About the role
You will be providing subject matter advice on all welding related matters and provide assistance with supervisory activities of existing internal & contract welding inspection staff & contractors.
The role has an attractive salary package of $135,000 - $140,000 with paid overtime at 1.6. Night work attracts a 30% uplift on base salary after the first 2 nights. This role is eligible to participate in our 10% bonus program. You will also receive a tool of trade vehicle.
Work is mainly located around Sydney, Canberra and Newcastle with some interstate and country travel required.
Key Responsibilities include
- Supervising welding operations, providing SME advice to welding staff & inspectors, supervising non-destructive testing, coating application and data collection for compliance and welding quality control
- Weld procedure development along with review and advice at tender stage
- Provide SME technical support as required to project teams by reviewing subcontractor documentation
- Mentor existing welding inspection staff and assist with staff development
About You
- Experience with pressure pipe work (Gas, petrochemical, hydrocarbon or water industries)
- Previous site supervision experience is a must
- Practical welding experience (must have a trades background)
- Qualification as a Welding Supervisor to AS1796 certificate 10 or higher
