About the role

As a Senior Underwriter reporting to the Head of Marine, you will be responsible for the assessment of renewals, new business, additions, or alterations for a broad range of marine products underwritten by Zurich. As someone with a high degree of credibility you will assist insurance brokers with marine accounts in the area of technical advice and support and you will continually support and promote the Zurich underwriting philosophy as established by our Chief Underwriter. As you make a difference and have real impact on business outcomes, you’ll feel the support of an experienced team who consistently deliver market leading underwriting services to our brokers and customers.

Important to your success

As someone with a proven track record in underwriting marine clients you will have established high level underwriting authorities. You will be skilled in the communication and delivery of risk management decisions and strategies, and you will enjoy tailoring your style to suit a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders. You will possess the technical knowledge and skills reflective of a seasoned practitioner who has progressed within underwriting positions of increasing responsibility, and you will be looking for the next opportunity to grown and build on your existing skills and experience.

• Business degree
• ANZIIF CIP Senior Insurance Qualification
• 10 years + insurance experience with underwriting and sales experience
• Broad specialised knowledge and expertise in Marine products and industry to underwrite and analyse new and renewal business within delegated authority levels
• In depth knowledge of Marine LoB
• Knowledge of the relevant Legislation and Regulations governing the General Insurance industry
