About the role
Reporting into the Chief Chemist, in the capacity of Laboratory Analyst, you will work as a key member of a Kalgoorlie based Lab team responsible for analyzing materials going to export.

- Supporting the operations by supplying accurate, quality assured and timely analysis of these commercial/export products
- Detecting potential or actual non-conformances, assessing their significance and recommending preventative or corrective actions
- Applying specialised technical knowledge to critically analyse and resolve complex problems
- Recommending appropriate preventative/corrective actions to improve sampling, testing and/or calibration activities
- Identifying hazards associated with samples, preparation methods, reagents and equipment and implement enterprise control measures
About You
To be successful in this role you will be a self-motivated and highly organized individual with high attention to detail. You will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholder groups and as a key member of a high performing team.

Nickel West Kalgoorlie
Kalgoorlie is the largest inland city in Western Australia and due to its central location is positioned at the heart of the Goldfields as a vibrant mining town and a major gateway to the Eastern States. Although fairly isolated, the City of Kalgoorlie/Boulder offers modern shopping facilities, a huge variety of sports, and schooling for all ages up to high school. There are contemporary housing options for all budgets, sporting clubs and leisure complexes of all descriptions.The Kalgoorlie Nickel Smelter receives nickel concentrate from our mining operations in Leinster and Mt Keith as well as from our Third Party Feed concentrator in Kambalda. Nickel West Kalgoorlie incorporates a flash furnace smelter, converters and an acid plant which has the capacity to produce up to 110,000 tonnes per annum of nickel matte.All Kalgoorlie roles are residential, FIFO is not an option. Nickel West Kalgoorlie is a non-smoking operation.
In addition, you will ideally have the following skills and experience:
- Cert IV in Laboratory Techniques OR demonstrated Lab experience
- Experience in Sample Preparation, Acid Digestion and experience in using LIMS
- Previous experience in using classical techniques and XRF spectrometry are preferred
- The skills to solve predictable problems using clear information or known solutions
