UGLs passenger train manufacturing and maintenance business are looking for a Electrical Maintenance & Testing Engineer to join our $2.3 billion New Intercity Fleet (NIF) project team. This project will oversee the replacement of trains carrying customers from Sydney to the Central Coast, Newcastle, the Blue Mountains and the South Coast. UGL will operate a new maintenance facility and provide maintenance and asset management services to the new fleet for 15 years.
The role of Electrical Maintenance & Testing Engineer will be based at our purpose-built facility in Kangy Angy on the NSW Central Coast joining the already established engineering team reporting to the Asset Manager. As we are still in the mobilisation phase of the project the engineering team are assisting with supervision coverage for the maintainers who are operating on a 24/7 rotating shift basis, the successful candidate will need to be willing to work on a roster assisting with shift coverage until the projects supervision team is fully mobilised over the next 6-12 months, after this the role will move in to a permanent day shift position.

This role is to provide technical support and advice to the Maintenance Supply Services and Commissioning portion of the NIF project which includes the Maintenance Facility, Commissioning Facility and Train maintenance, supporting train availability, training and mentoring new NIF team members, the documenting of IP gained during Testing, Commissioning and maintenance and writing and reviewing procedures, instructions, task lists, technical maintenance plans and processes to support the project.
- Electrical/Electronic engineering qualification.
- Experience gained in rollingstock maintenance, test and commissioning or movement of rollingstock (or equivalent in automotive, defence, avionics or other safety critical environment).
- Experience in Asset management of plant and Equipment on a large manufacturing or maintenance facility.
- Must be customer focused, team oriented, accountable and results driven.
- Strong team player and desire to work with the NIF Project Team towards a common goal.
