About Group Strategy:
The Group Strategy team is a fundamental part of the newly formed Strategy & Innovation (S&I) division at NAB, responsible for driving the development of the NAB Group’s overall strategy and portfolio shape. The team actively collaborates with colleagues in S&I, the Business Units and Enabling Units to ensure alignment to the Group Strategy and supports the delivery of strategic priorities. We are dedicated to improving financial services to better serve customers and help communities prosper.

As a Consultant in Group Strategy, you will be responsible for shaping and leading components of work that inform strategic decision making.
You will work with Group Strategy team members and colleagues from across NAB to develop robust research and analysis, prepare high quality presentations, and communicate these to advise and influence senior stakeholders.
It is essential that you are a ‘self-starter’, maintain a strong customer focus, are able to think critically, and demonstrate a desire to coach and support junior colleagues.
The role is accountable for:
- Shaping and leading components of significant strategic initiatives
- Structuring and delivering robust analysis and financial modelling
- Synthesising findings and developing compelling, structured business presentations that clearly articulate recommendations
- Supporting stakeholder engagement and implementation of initiatives
- Supporting the execution and delivery of specific strategy initiatives
- Participating in strategic projects and initiatives elsewhere in the Group, and ensuring alignment to defined Group Strategy
- Providing guidance to team members, including coaching of junior colleagues
- Providing input to business planning processes
- Developing industry relationships and an understanding of market and customer trends
- Work in a fast-paced environment, dealing with uncertainty and ambiguity, and maintain composure and focus under pressure
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience in strategy consulting (or similar), gained in a well-regarded consulting firm or investment bank (exposure to Financial Services would be highly regarded)
- Demonstrated experience in strategy formulation, strategic planning and project management
- Proven ability to effectively interact with, challenge & influence senior stakeholders
- Relevant tertiary qualifications with post-graduate qualifications highly regarded
- A positive attitude and strong motivation for continuous learning and development
