Your New Role
We are looking for a dynamic Senior Emergency Services Officer to join our West Musgrave Project team. Reporting to the Manager – Operations, this is a full-time permanent opportunity that provides significant career growth and development opportunities.
The role is Perth based, on a roster of 8 days on, 6 days off. Relocation support may be provided for the successful applicant.
As a key member of our West Musgrave Project team, you will:

How you will create impact:
- Develop the plans and processes of operational readiness to respond to various incidents e.g. fire fighting, medical response, evacuation plans.
- Provide general emergency response training to all personnel on site including Fire Extinguisher, evacuation procedures and other training as deemed appropriate.
- Provide 24/7 on-call point of contact for all types of emergencies on site.
- Inspect, audit and maintain emergency response equipment, medical stocks and First Aid Room.
- Provide advice to departments across site regarding high risk situations including Fire, Rescue,
- Lead the recruitment, development and retention of Emergency Response Team volunteers and ensure they’re in a state of readiness.
- Provide advice to departments across site regarding high risk situations including Fire, Rescue, Confined Space as required including participating in Safety Interactions.
What we value:
- Strong interpersonal abilities with a capacity to manage people in challenging situations and remain calm

- Demonstrated ability to communicate, negotiate and/or resolve conflict
- Strong emergency services background, with previous emergency response experience covering incidents including: Medical, Fire fighting and Rescue
- A Cert IV in Ambulance/ Diploma Paramedical Science or equivalent essential
- A Cert III Mine Emergency Response and Rescue essential.
- A Cert IV TAE essential
- A Drug and Alcohol Testing Certification essential
What does success look like?
- Respond to various incidents in a timely manner including: Airfield, HAZMAT, RCR, SAR, Vertical Rescue, Medical Evacuation, Industrial and Commercial Fire fighting.
- Provide patient pre-hospital care and trauma assessments as required.
- Ensure Emergency Pre-plans including but not limited to Confined Space Rescue Plans, Building Evacuation Plans, and area specific plans, as determined appropriate through legislation or site management are implemented and exercised accordingly.
- Assist with the delivery of internal training packages to the ERT volunteers.
- Ensure all activities undertaken by the ER Team are consistent with relevant state and federal legislation, Australian Standards and industry best practice.
- Implement and assess the effectiveness of Safe Operating Procedures, Safe Operating Practices and ER guidelines consistent with the core function of the ER Team.
- Conduct operational readiness drills/exercises annually.
- Conduct compliance evacuation exercises for all buildings as required by AS3745.
