About the Role
The Geoscience Mine Geology (Iron Ore) team are seeking a part-time (2 days per week) Mine Geologist to work in a job share capacity within a safety focussed, technically motivated and results-driven team, working in a positive and inclusive environment. Our team strives to provide targeted, high quality geological interpretations to meet our stakeholder’s needs.
Working with a small team, Core responsibilities include:
- An overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and sustainable development
- Accurate collection, analysis and interpretation of geological data
- Delivery of best practice grade control and mining geology core routines
- Ensures the timely and accurate flow of information from the Geoscience and Mining Geology function into all customer groups
- Perform geological model reconciliations and investigate anomalies
- Support the implementation of RC and grade control drilling programs and other technology enhancement projects including downhole assay technology (DHAT)
- Support the development and delivery of continuous improvement (CI) initiatives that drive value for the Mining Geology, Geoscience function and the asset in terms of recurring savings, incremental throughput, safety and/or culture
- Support the weekly CI routine. Manage projects with use of WAVE and progress initiatives through the respective stage gates
About You
This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual who is interested in exploring a part-time or job share opportunity.
With a tertiary degree in geoscience, the successful applicant will have:
- An ability to collect, process and interpret geological data in a mine (and Exploration) setting, including but not limited to geological reconciliations, grade control practices, etc.
- Strong data analysis, adaptive leadership and problem solving skills,
- The ability to communicate effectively with key stakeholders,
- Working knowledge of industry standard mining and geological software and systems including Vulcan, GIS applications and Leapfrog,
- Minimum of C class manual driver’s license.
- Capability with Vulcan, 3D (Leapfrog) and 2D (ArcGIS) software, along with data analysis and coding packages such as ioGAS, Spotfire or Python are highly regarded.

You will be based in Perth, Western Australia, in the multi award winning office tower - ‘City Square’.
