About Nickel West
Nickel West is a fully integrated mine-to-market business. Our culture is rich with technical know-how, highly efficient and focused on innovation. The business employs over 2500 people from five operations across Western Australia comprising of nickel underground and open-cut mines, concentrators, a smelter and a refinery. We also have plans to expand our operations with new mines in the northern Goldfields and a large nickel sulphate plant in Kwinana.

About the Role
We are offering a number of exciting Traineeship opportunities across our Northern Nickel West Operations.
The program is designed to develop cultured, engaged, highly skilled and work ready trainees, providing you with nationally recognised qualifications upon successful completion. You will be provided with industry-leading training and mentoring by some of BHP's talented workforce. You will also experience first-rate working conditions with a focus on safety, quality and teamwork.
Mining Production Traineeships – Mt Keith
As a Trainee you will learn about the ‘Open Cut Mining Load & Haul’ operations, you’ll be trained to be responsible for the delivery of ore, dirt and waste material via the operations of BHP’s extensive fleet of large haul trucks.
Underground Mining Production Traineeships – Cliffs & Leinster
As a Trainee you will learn about the ‘Underground Mining Load & Haul’ operations, you’ll be trained to be responsible for the delivery of ore, dirt and waste material via the operations of BHP’s extensive fleet of articulated underground haul trucks.
These roles are offered on a 7 days, 7 off, 7 nights, 7 off roster with FIFO ex Perth, Residential or Drive in Drive out from Regional WA options available.

Eligibility Criteria:
Applicants wishing to apply for the BHP Nickel West Traineeship Program must meet the following criteria;-
- Hold a current and valid WA Drivers Licence
- Strong commitment to your own wellbeing and the wellbeing of others
- Demonstrate effective communication skills both written and verbal
- Proven attendance record (recent school or employment history)
- A high commitment to safety systems and procedures
- Enthusiasm to learn and motivation to succeed
- Demonstrate basic administrative and/or computing skills
