The team mandate is to partner with each of our businesses across the group portfolio to ensure a consistent framework for Supplier Management across the entire Woolworths group, focusing on value delivery, risk management, performance management, innovation and continuous improvement.
Risk in particular has been deemed as a critical priority by the Woolworths group management and supplier risk plays a pivotal role in preserving Woolworths’ brand and reputation.
About the role
The Strategy Manager – Risk Management (12 month fixed term contract) will be part of the GNFR Supplier Management Program and will enable value by setting up processes and infrastructure to implement sustainable practices and manage risks more proactively, reducing financial and reputation impacts.
Reporting to the Program Manager – Supplier Management, you will be accountable for design to implementation of the “Supplier Risk Management” work stream. The scope includes, but is not limited to:
- Managing risk proactively to minimise exposure to fines, mitigation/unplanned added costs and impacts on our brand
- Ensure compliance with regulations and responsible sourcing requirements, such as Modern Slavery, Data protection, etc.
- Ensure the right level of due diligence is done across our supplier base (for incumbents and new) including: Audits, Environmental, Modern Slavery etc
- Consistency across the business to protect our brand
In addition, you will be responsible for
- Managing internal and external stakeholders across both the procurement portfolio and the businesses
- Collaborate with Group Risk Assurance team to identify high risk areas and recommend mitigation measures
- Deploy a structured risk assessment methodology equitably across the business (process, tools and training)
