About the Role
About Blackwater Mine
Blackwater mine is an open cut coal mine located in the Central Queensland 200km west from Rockhampton and south of the town of Blackwater, Queensland. The mine has one of the largest coal reserves in Australia and the world and therefore offers exposure to unique equipment; such as the largest Dragline fleet in BHP globally. It predominantly produces coking coal for the steel making industry, sold domestically as well as exported out of Gladstone around to various locations around the globe.
About the Role
Reporting to the Superintendent Governance and Technical Stewardship, you will be responsible for providing specialist technical expertise to the operation. This will involve the execution of tasks associated with providing engineering technical support and ensuring a robust risk and benefit-based assessment process is followed for engineering applications.
This position will be based at Blackwater Mine.
In this role you will:
- Manage the governance of the Asset Integrity for the mines critical assets (draglines, shovels, stackers/reclaimers, electrical infrastructure and CHPPs);
- Review, update and approve the complete set of Electrical technical documentation (International, National & Site engineering standards, equipment standards, specifications, datasheets, procedures, programs and drawings) from which the Operation is designed, constructed, operated and maintained;
- Provide technical guidance and knowledge to support projects, maintenance, operations and third parties and contractors to align with BHP engineering standards;
- Participate in reviews and audits and collaborate with discipline engineers across BMA;
- Support and govern the accurate maintenance of the Operation's blueprint (engineering standards, specifications drawings, processes, systems and procedures), ensuring approved modifications of its plant, equipment and infrastructure;
- Validate that the content of technical documentation is maintained to reflect the “as built” condition as per authorized modifications and changes; and
- Ensure maintenance of physical and electronic documentation against defined document management standards.
About You
You can demonstrate proven experience across risk management, application of engineering principles, standards and technical auditing. You will be systems and process driven with also the ability to present and write to senior leaders. Preferably with mining industry experience.
Experience with working with SAP is desirable. Due to the nature of this role you will need to be an engaging, outgoing and technically competent engineer with a professional and process driven approach to Engineering. This role will encourage you to build strong relationship with a vast variety of stakeholders and your excellent communication skills will make you a valued team member on and off site.
