About the Role
The WA Iron Ore Non-Process Infrastructure (NPI) team is responsible for operating all the critical services which support the safe operations of our Iron Ore business, including our power, water, housing, camps and aviation operations.
Due to a recent career-development within the team, we now seek an enthusiastic and customer focused individual to take on the role of Manager Village Operations, reporting to the General Manager of NPI. This role is integral to the leadership team and manages a portfolio of more than 10,000 rooms across our 12 camps and villages in the Pilbara.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading our staff and contracting partners to deliver a safe, welcoming and customer-focused village experience for residents and visitors to our operations, as well as building and delivering an exciting future through our village transformation program.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Modelling an overriding commitment to health, safety, environmental responsibility and sustainable development.
- Implementing and maintaining a best-in-industry culture and service level for our ‘village experience’ in order to support attraction and retention of the workforce of the future
- Developing strong cross functional relationships across our operations and functional leadership teams to deliver on our business plans, ,including supporting implementation of our village transformation and upgrade program
- Working to foster great relationships with our commercial partners to deliver high quality, reliable and cost-effective services across our 12 camps and villages in the Pilbara region.
- Setting a vision and plan for the team to to ensure high levels of resident/customer safety, engagement and satisfaction.
- Overseeing the team responsible for managing contract operations within camps and villages
About You
To be impactful in this role, you are a values based professional with the skills and desire to influence and drive change through genuine engagement and collaboration.
You may come from a background in hospitality and the hotel industry, aged care, facilities management or something completely different, but what you will bring is a passion for customer experience and a clear commitment to developing a culture of inclusion, safety, wellbeing and care for all. Further to this, demonstrated ability to manage performance of commercial relationships, contracting partners and deliver continuous improvement will be integral to your success.
In addition, we are ideally looking for the following skills and experience:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly collaborative with the ability to build meaningful partnerships with diverse stakeholders
- Demonstrated success within a contracts / commercial management capacity
- Well-developed analytical and problem solving skills
- Understanding of Risk Management Processes
- Demonstrated commitment to Health, Safety, Environment and Community
Location
You will be employed on a flexible fly-in-fly-out roster, dividing your time between our team in the Perth Office and site locations each week, as well as being supported to work from home as a regular part of your routine. The Perth Office offers a central location, as well as fantastic amenities such as end of trip facilities and family friendly meeting rooms along with world-class views of the Swan River.
