What will your typical day look like?

You will be:
- Aligned with one or more Business Units (BU) or Enabling Areas (EA) to help realise their technology project portfolios. Includes all aspects of portfolio management such as supporting and guiding the relevant Project Manager(s) to successfully deliver their projects.
- Responsible for BU/EA Relationship Management: building great relationships with your senior stakeholders and being a trusted advisor for them. You’ll be their primary liaison for ITS projects.
- Leading projects that deliver business improvements or transformation via the adoption of new technology. This includes hands-on project management, such as planning activities, tracking progress and resolving or escalating issues, risks and decisions in a timely manner.
- Working within the firm’s established project delivery process (framework) in a traditional / waterfall or hybrid agile manner. Maintaining accurate project records in the firm’s project & portfolio management system and regular status reporting.
- Managing project teams that consist of colleagues from ITS, Enabling Areas and Business Units (e.g., Consulting, Risk Advisory).
- Providing professional coaching for other Project Managers in the team, supported by Talent and Head of PMO.
- Liaising with Deloitte colleagues in Australia, Asia Pacific and Global, as well as external parties (such as vendors) to achieve project outcomes.
About the team
The Information Technology Services (ITS) team is seeking to fill a position for an experienced Portfolio Delivery Manager to join the Project Management Office (PMO). Deloitte and ITS are committed to providing world class and innovative technology services on a national basis. The ITS PMO is responsible for delivering major IT initiatives for Deloitte internally as well as externally, to support client engagements.

You are someone with:
- Proven portfolio management experience, including a pragmatic approach to issue resolution.
- 10+ years IT Project Management experience with exposure to Innovation, Products, Transformation, Enterprise Applications, Data Analytics and Business Process improvement-based projects. Working within a Global organisation and being part of larger global project delivery teams as and when required
- The ability to effectively communicate with all levels of stakeholders – verbally and in written form. Be able to effectively drive Partner-level Steering Committee meetings.
- Exposure to the secure software development lifecycle
- The ideal candidate will also have certification, knowledge and/or experience delivering projects using a traditional methodology (e.g. waterfall) or Agile framework (e.g. Scrum, hybrid Agile, SAFe).
- University degree or equivalent qualifications preferably in an IT or Business-related field
- The successful candidate will often work on multiple projects at a time, each one belonging to an internal project portfolio (e.g. Quality & Risk, Talent, Legal…) or a Business Unit project portfolio (e.g. Consulting, Tax & Legal…).
