Our Operations
One of Australia’s largest mines and a complex minerals processing operation, Olympic Dam, is unique in that we produce Copper, Uranium, Gold and Silver. About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Finance and based in Adelaide, in this role you will be responsible for delivering timely and accurate financial information to ensure the value of business decisions are clear. The role leads a team that advocates for value generation, through robust analysis of data and the development of robust business and financial plans with the purpose of providing insight through analytics, guidance to investment decisions, as well as identifying opportunities for improvement.
This role will see you lead and guide in business planning and strategy activities across our Olympic Dam Asset. You will be instrumental in developing integrated cross-functional business plans to enable the achievement of our strategy and business priorities. Your focus on maximising value, supported by sound process management and effective engagement across multiple stakeholders, will be utilised to facilitate the delivery of continuous improvement activities and the annual business planning cycle.
Accountabilities:
- Lead, coach and mentor direct reports to build team capability and ensure delivery against performance targets
- Establish a value-driven and safe-to-speak-up culture that is data driven, action-oriented and prioritises continuous improvement
- Develop strong working relationships (rapport and credibility) with key internal stakeholders, and confidently present ideas, results and recommendations
- Lead delivery of Life of Asset, Cash Prioritisation, 5 Year Plan, Annual budget and Quarterly on-cycle forecast process and financial outcomes, focusing on driving performance to benchmarks and analysing outputs for variability and improvement opportunities
- Manage delivery of Asset and Operational level performance reporting, financial analysis and insights including the development and testing of hypotheses
- Drive the analysis of production, benchmarking and project data to deliver insights and solutions to improve business operations and financial performance
- Drive the adoption of the Asset Budgeting & Forecasting system through ensuring a robust training and engagement plan is executed and championing system usage
- Oversee investment evaluation processes and modeling to ensure adequate review of assumptions, outcomes and recommendations
- Liaise with key stakeholders to provide assistance with business queries
About You
We are seeking candidates with the following competencies (resources industry or consulting experience preferable):
- Degree qualification in Commerce (Finance or Accounting), Engineering.
- Post graduate qualifications such as Masters, MBA, CPA, CFA or CA highly advantageous.
- Demonstrated experience working with a large corporate or professional environment in a business planning capacity.
- Demonstrated experience in the resources industry highly advantageous.
- Demonstrated financial planning process knowledge, data analytics and diagnosis with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, stakeholder engagement and ability to work autonomously and collaboratively and deliver as needed.
- Financial system experience (ERP and Budgeting/Forecasting)
- Periodical travel to site will be required.
