The role
The Surface Drilling Consumables Field Support is a Sandvik representative on our customer mine sites, managing the drilling consumables (Rock Tools) and ensuring our service and operational activities are meeting our customer’s expectations. This role sees you engaged in customer service and planning activities, with all training provided.
The role is either Drive in /Drive Out (DIDO) or Fly in/Fly Out (FIFO) to sites based in WA, with accommodation and meals provided. This is an 8 days on/6 days off day shift only roster, with a standard shift being 12 hours.
Areas of responsibility
Managing drilling consumables inventories
Assisting Contract Manager to Integrate, Control and maintain electronic stock control system in inventory management.
Undertaking daily deliveries to drill sites
Analysing and reporting on drilling consumable performance, condition and failures
Positively engaging and liaising with our client’s drill and blast team
Reconditioning/Servicing of Down the Hole (DTH) Hammers with a focus on safety, quality and productivity.(training provided)
Timely data entry and record keeping using basic excel formulas
Participating in site meetings and safety initiatives and activities
Develop Risk Assessments around stock handling and movement.
Developing customer relations in regard to rig movements, configurations & requirements.
Your profile
You will have a responsible attitude, able to work unsupervised and as part of a team. You are proud to be a representative of Sandvik on site, and able to work with multiple stakeholders. You have excellent customer service skills and able to work away from home on a roster.
You are able to travel, have or be able to attain a HR, Forklift, DG and CV licenses. If site required, you are able to get a Police Clearance. You are able to lift to 40kg and an ability to comprehend and work under Mine Health and Safety Regulations.
Knowledge of an experience with the Sandvik product range would be highly regarded, as well as mining experience, however it is not mandatory. You may have worked in warehousing or inventory management, or in a customer service role or in the mining industry. You are passionate about making a positive contribution to your workplace, and in return you will be able to access development opportunities within Sandvik.
