About the Role
BHP’s US$3.6 billion South Flank is a greenfield mine and brownfield processing centre created adjacent to and within the Mining Area C operation. Located approximately 130km north-west of Newman, South Flank together with Mining Area C will become one of the largest iron ore hubs in the world, within reach of several billion tonnes of high-grade ore. South Flank will help to maximise the volume and quality of BHP’s iron ore production, which is essential for the world’s steel.
South Flank has recently reached a significant milestone in the delivery of first ore – safely, on time and on budget – underpinned by the hard work and ingenuity of our workforce.
Embracing inclusion and diversity to create a vibrant culture that represents the communities in which we live and operate, South Flank is focused on high performance, flexible work arrangements, strong Indigenous participation and gender balance.
South Flank currently operates on a two weeks on, one week off roster. Feedback from our workforce tells us a more family friendly roster would be welcomed by our employees, and we're proposing to move South Flank to an 8 days on, 6 days off, 7 nights on, 7 days off (8/6 7/7) roster. Should a final decision be made to implement the new roster, the transition is expected to commence in March 2022.
As such, South Flank Mining Production teams are seeking expressions of interest to join our world class operation. The expected Drill & Blast opportunities are:
-
