About the role
You will be key to the delivery of our Exclusive Beer Brand strategy & financial targets. This role is a great opportunity to be a key driver behind our continued overarching Exclusive Liquor Brand expansion and ambition.
What you’ll be doing
You will lead sourcing projects related to the vision of the beer category, identifying new opportunities, and ensuring that sourced products meet quality standards, commercial benchmarks, and customer satisfaction ratings.
You’ll also:
- work with Category Managers to identify gaps in the beer portfolio, emerging product areas, size of prize/opportunity & feasibility of product
- partner with the Category team to drive sales and profit performance ahead of budget and in line with forecasts
- end to end project management of all new product development from concept to execution
- work collaboratively with suppliers and internal stakeholders to identify new opportunities or opportunities to improve efficiencies
- monitor & review execution of pricing, promotional management & distribution across banners in collaboration with Category Teams and Trade Planning
- liaise with category and supply chain teams to ensure optimum levels of stock
- demonstrate understanding of consumer buying behaviour
Good things you’ll need
You will use your commercial acumen along with passion for beer as well as your broad knowledge of the alcohol market to source products in line with our brand strategy and category team requirements.
You’ll also need
- demonstrated buying, category management or sourcing experience within the retail environment
- passion for the product (wine, beer, spirits or ready to drink) and previous knowledge or experience within the beer industry will be strongly considered
- outstanding influencing, negotiation and stakeholder management skills
- sound knowledge of end-to-end supply chain
