THE ROLE
IGO are currently seeking a registered nurse to join the team at our Nova Operation. This role is a 3 month fixed term contract, with the possibility of extension, working an 8:6 FIFO roster from Perth (or DIDO from surrounding areas).
Key accountabilities will include:
- Assess and coordinate the treatment of injuries and illnesses on site
- Maintain accurate Injury Reports and treatment records
- Liaise with Insurer, medical personnel and employees to effectively manage the lodgement of workers compensation documentation
- Preparing and monitor return to work programmes
- Conduct workplace health and hygiene inspections and reviews
- Conduct Alcohol Random Breath Testing on site and manage breathalyser equipment
- Assist with 3rd party drug screening where applicable and ensure Medical Information / Records are current and kept in a secure place
- Develop and facilitate monthly health and wellbeing program.
- Conduct weekly site inductions and assist in facilitating other training events
- Actively participate with your work team to improve and sustain a positive safety culture across the organisation.
YOUR EXPERIENCE
To be successful in this role, you will need to be dynamic and self motivated as well as a supportive team member. You will also have the following:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN)
- Registered Nurse (Australian recognised – AHPRA)
- Experience within an emergency department and/or remote area, preferably within a mining environment
- Demonstrated strong problem solving, lateral thinking and analytical skills
- Knowledge of use of specialised medical equipment (resuscitators etc.)
- Experience driving an Ambulance
- Familiarity with Privacy Obligations
